Ken vs. Walt in…
Session 1:
“Why ‘Ken vs. Walt’ isn’t a Stupid Idea”
The scene: This is how things went when Walt first pitched the idea of Ken vs. Walt… the column didn’t exist yet.
Walt:So you know how we always have these debates that end up being kind of entertaining?
Ken:Yea.
Walt:I wanna do a column on PEV. Ken vs. Walt.
Ken:That sounds dumb.
Walt:That… sounds about right.
Ken:Ha – I don’t know dude. I don’t think we’re really that entertaining.
Walt:Why?! Alex (Walt’s brother-in-law) enjoyed a half hour of us bickering about steroids!

(Alex gets REALLY excited)
Ken:Yeaaaa, but no one really cares about us.
Walt:That’s true… but they may care about making fun of how stupid we are.
Ken:Nah, I don’t think so. Why would anyone read that?
Walt:Well, we wouldn’t just bicker. We would be kinda educational too, I think. We’ll just site our sources, ya know. And I’m sure we won’t need to try and be funny – I imagine what we think is intelligent debate is to others more like watching an argument over the last pop tart.
Ken:That’s true.
Walt:So there it is. We’re doing it.
Ken:Did we just write our first one?
Walt:Holy shit. I think we did.
Ken:There was zero educational value to this.
Walt:Yes.
Ken:Yes.
Walt:Maybe next time.
Ken:No.
Walt:Yes.
