XXQs: Scott Carey

PEV: How would you describe your sound and what do you feel makes you stand out over the others in your genre?

Scott Carey (SC):  My sound is a little bit of Jason Aldean meets Zack Brown meets the color Black... Is black still a color.question 1 part 2: I feel like theres not many artists that roll in to town and do there own thing and make it...Im hoping to to be 1 of the lucky few...and break a few rules on the way.

PEV:  Tell  us how you developed your sound and into becoming a musician.                                                                                    

SC: My Dad was a drummer, Ive sang since the 4th grade. Im running with this (making music) because I cant help but being the life of the party and its far more condusive to get paid for doing so than not.

PEV: What can fans expect from a live show?

SC: Cowgirl hats, A good bit of drinking,laughing, lovin and rockin out country style.... oh and a bit of  "I dont give a s@%t attitude.

PEV:  What is the first thing that comes to mind when you write a song?

SC: I picture a large crowd singing along and connecting with the words from the song.

PEV: What is your creative process like?

SC: My best creative moments come from a recurring thought that moves me. From there I typically jot down an idea...maybe a couple of lines. Sometimes it just takes off. other times I beat it to death...and it dies.

PEV: What was the underlining inspiration for you?

SC: Underlining inspiration would be life. Music celebrates life

PEV: Thinking back to when you first started out, do you ever look back at your career and think about your earlier days and how you’ve arrived where you are today?

SC: No not much, I only focus on where I am going.

PEV: What’s one thing we’d be surprised to hear about you?

SC: I really enjoy watching the golf channel.

PEV:  Was there a certain point in your life when you knew that music was going to be a career for you?

SC: I guess when I first saw myself on TV, I knew I had something.

PEV: What one word best describes Scott Carey?

SC: True

PEV: How is life for you in the music world? Best and worst parts?

SC: Country music has been welcoming.. best part? Recording in tracking room.Worst? Nothing comes to mind.

PEV: Is there one area you wish you could travel around and play?

SC:The Carribbean.

PEV:How have all your friends and family reacted to your career?

SC: Yes I guess they are pretty excited for me.

PEV: What’s it like when you get to play in your hometown?

SC: Its always a good time.

PEV:What can we find you doing in your spare time?

SC: Spare time? Who has spare time. I don't know what that is.

PEV: Name one present and past artist or group that would be your dream collaboration? Why?

SC: Elvis and me because he is one of the coolest dudes to walk the planet.

PEV: Is there an up and coming band or artist you think we should all be looking out for now?

SC:Up and coming....My predictions are usually way off. American Idol really screws everybody up.

PEV: If you weren’t playing music now what do you think would be your career?

SC: A Subway "Sandwich" Artist.

PEV: So, what is next for you?

SC: Music Videos.
