In this corner…
We have Ken. Need some background on Ken? Too bad. I’m not writing it here – you can read all about the guy in the About Us section. But I will tell you this – Ken is a prick. The Devil’s Advocate. Anything I say… even if he agrees with it… there’s a good chance he’ll point out something that is wrong with my statement, or bring up alternative points of view that I don’t feel like hearing about.
Is he smart about it? Yes, he is. That’s the worst part; now I feel like I need to defend my “absolutely right” point of view… which brings me to the other corner:
We have Walt. Me. The guy writing this. I like philosophy and figuring out why people do the things they do… and occasionally I form very strong opinions on subjects along these lines. I like sharing them with my best pal Ken so we can dance together to the drumbeat of harmonious agreement… at least, that’s what I’d like to happen. The fact that it never does is good, but I’m a stubborn block-jaw that may have trouble dealing with criticism at times.
So what happens? We end up entertaining most of our friends with our debates. So why keep my pain and Ken’s delight to ourselves? That’s what Ken vs. Walt is all about. We argue. We share. Hopefully you laugh… and maybe even learn a thing or two. Read on – and hopefully it makes sense.
