DJ Caz

DJ Caz knows exactly who he is. He knew all along and he even knew when everyone told him he couldn't be one of the top DJs around, that he could. It's that energy and passion that DJ Caz, brings to the stage every night. He says, "This was my calling. I had no choice but to keep pursuing my dream one day at a time taking it to the top." And after only a short period of time in the game, DJ Caz was headlining major clubs. Now that he's a vet of the business, he's getting bigger every day and taking on more clubs in more cities.

DJ Caz, describes his live performance as, "Extreme high-energy. I love getting the crowd into it and having the whole club throw their hands up. I don't sell any ticket buyers out, that being said turntablism, live remixes, and off the wall build-ups and bass drops one after another setting the club off one mix at a time." There is more to DJ Caz than incredible beats, so find out more with his XXQs.

XXQs: DJ Caz

PensEyeView.com (PEV): Do you remember the first time you thought
to yourself – “I am really onto something!”

DJ Caz: Well 1 1/2 years into DJ'ing I got an opportunity to spin at the Imperial Palace Casinos' "Chill-Ultra Lounge". I was so excited but at the same time knew that this could be something big. I went in to spin, rocked it and called it a night. On the way driving home I thought to my self… "I've only been DJ'ing 1 1/2 years and already got an opportunity at a large high-profile casino.” It then dawned on me that this was my calling. I had no choice but to keep pursuing my dream one day at a time taking it to the top.

PEV: What can fans expect from a live show?

DJ Caz: Extreme high-energy. I love getting the crowd into it and having the whole club throw their hands up. I don't sell any ticket buyers out, that being said turntablism, live remixes, and off the wall build-ups and bass drops one after another setting the club off one mix at a time.

PEV: What is the first thing that comes to mind
when you step on stage?

DJ Caz: Stay focused and relaxed. This is my moment..

PEV:  What was the underlining
inspiration for your music? Where do get your best ideas for songs?

DJ Caz: Music has always been a big part of my life. Seeing other DJ's, Bands, Solo Artists, etc. constantly give me inspiration for new ideas as well as keep me on my toes to stay on top.

PEV: Tell us about your latest release. What can
fans expect from this work?

DJ Caz: I currently have a new mix coming out entitled "Love/Hate Relationships". It's something different then what I've done in the past. Don't expect any club bangers in there but the creativity of the rock, R&B, disco and many other genre's of ya know love songs… break up songs... getting back on your feet songs. I wanna show my fans that not only can I rock the clubs but I can also tap into your feelings and brighten up your days when your not feeling so good.

PEV: Describe the kind of mindset you had to be in to create your show?

DJ Caz: You have to be 100%, balls to the wall ready to rock n roll. Up-beat mind-set to say the least. Things are constantly changing and you have to be able to keep up with what is going on to stay in control.

PEV: What’s one thing we’d be surprised to hear about DJ Caz?

DJ Caz: Lol. Well a lot of people don't know but I am highly into Astronomy. Ya know space, Aliens, black holes etc. I am always watching National Geographic and the Science channels looking for new information about life outside of earth. 0.o

PEV: Was there a certain point in your life when you knew you wanted music to be a large part of your life, if not the biggest part?

DJ Caz: When I turned 18yrs. old I knew that I had to start pursuing some sort of career in music. I had a bunch of different jobs and the thing wasn't that I wasn't good at these jobs or able to do them. But that I didn't wanna be doing these jobs and I knew I had it in me to pursue music I just had to find exactly what it was that I was going to do and shortly after that DJ'ing had made it's way into my life.

PEV: What one word best describes DJ Caz?

DJ Caz: Dynamic.

PEV: How is life on the road for you in the music
world? Best and worst parts?

DJ Caz: It's pretty good for the most part. Best parts would be seeing different cities and meeting people outside of your hometown. The worst would be the loneliness of the road and becoming homesick.

PEV: Is there one area you wish you could travel
around and play that you have not yet?

DJ Caz: Los Angeles, California and Europe would be two spots I would love to share my music with.

PEV: How have all your friends and family reacted
to your career? What’s it like when you get to play at your hometown?

DJ Caz: There were definitely some mixed opinion's with the decision of wanting to pursue music full time. Some friends and family looked down on it because they didn't consider it a "real job" or that "there was no future in it". As far as playing in my hometown I am welcomed by all and it is a true blessing to be able to get on stage and rock with my city from start to finish.

PEV: What can we find you doing in your spare
 time, aside from playing/writing music?

DJ Caz: That would easily be cutting the grass and taking late night walks along the lake trail with my black lab Roxie. I love her so much!

PEV:  Is there an up and coming band or
artist you think we should all be looking out for now?

DJ Caz: Definitely would be "Kreayshawn" from Cali. She has a new wave of Rap with her insane rhymes line after line. By all means be on the lookout for "Kreayshawn".

PEV: If you weren’t playing music now what do you
think you would be doing as your career?

DJ Caz: I can honestly say I would be a part of the Fire Department in Louisiana. I've always had a part of me inside that wanted to put my life on the line for others while attempting to save them

PEV: So, what is next for DJ Caz?

DJ Caz: What's next... Well I have some nice gigs coming up in the net few weeks be sure to check those out. I have some collabs I am working on with fellow DJ's make sure you catch that. But most of all as you follow me take note of the creativity that I incorporate with everything I do. Creativity flourishes over everything and it's better to be creative with your music rather than just doing what everybody else is doing. Stay Positive and Stay Creative!
