Alyssa Chick

We're going a bit country today with southern singer Alyssa Chick. She's working on some good stuff, so check her out. Below are all the answers to the XXQ's, so keep going for more. (PEV): How would you describe your sound and what do you feel makes you stand out over the others in your genre?

AC: Well I stand out because I have a clear voice. I think my sound is a country mixed with old gospel and Christian.

PEV:  Tell us how you developed your musical journey.

AC: Well I’m still developing my music still have lots of things to work on and I started because I felt this is what God is wanting me to do and I love doing it. I believe that I have what it takes for a career in music -- but like I said I’m still developing this journey.

PEV:  What can fans expect from a live Alyssa Chick show?

AC: I’m not shore how to explain it but I would say fun and laid back

PEV:  What is the first thing that comes to mind when you write a song?

AC: I relay don’t know... I would have to say I would be how it touches me and how I can relate to a thought or something I heard someone say.

PEV: What is your creative process like?

AC: I always have a pen and paper with me or a recorder so if I think of a song I’ll save it and then win its quiet and I’m not busy I pull the note’s I made out and go over them and sing them over and over as I think of things that will work in that song.

PEV: What was the underlining inspiration for you?

AC: Well you know God gave me this voice so he must want me to use it and I believe I am on the right road to making that happen.

PEV: Thinking back to when you first started out, do you ever look back at your career and think about your earlier days and how you’ve arrived where you are today?

AC: Well I’m still in my early days but yes I think back and wonder how that kid that never got first place at a talent show, is now the girl that is on stage with people singing her music.

PEV: What’s one thing we’d be surprised to hear about you?

AC: I love to go fishing and spending time with friends and family.

PEV: Was there a certain point in your life when you knew that music was going to be a career for you?

AC: Whe I asked my friend JB Cloud to listen to my voice and see what he thought and then did the same with many other people... When I got good feedback I was thinking well if I love this and they like me why not do what you love.

PEV: What one word best describes Alyssa Chick

AC: County.

PEV: How is life for you in the music world? Best and worst parts?

AC: The best is starting this journey and turning heads and showing my family and myself that I can do this. The worst is I guess it would be being nervous... Still getting butterfly’s win I get on stage.

PEV: Is there one area you wish you could travel around and play?

AC: Texas is where I am from and I would love to get to see all the people and places out there but I would like to go to other places as well.

PEV:  How have all your friends and family reacted to your career?

AC: Most are supportive but they all say, 'When are you going to be famous?' And they are still waiting to see how it all works out. My little sister is my biggest fan - she has me on here MP3 player just things that I did for here and she goes around singing my songs. That’s pretty cool.

PEV: What’s it like when you get to play in your hometown?

AC: I like it I play at my church a lot, so it is always nice to be how well they all support you. I can be myself and not get nervous.

PEV: Name one present and past artist or group that would be your dream collaboration? Why?

AC: Tanya Tucker because she was from Texas like me and she really had fun doing her job. Josh Abbott because he is fun does great live shows and I think our voices would work well together.

PEV: Is there an up and coming band or artist you think we should all be looking out for now?

AC: Yes, all Texas country bands and artists are great to look out for. The one that sticks out in my mind right now is Cody Riley. He is a Texas country singer - a sweet person and does great live shows.

PEV: If you weren’t playing music now what do you think would be your career?

AC: I’m still in college so I’m not sure yet but I would say a veterinary technician or something with animals.

PEV: So, what is next for you?

AC: I’m going to the studio soon to start recording I will have five new songs out. They will be put on my web site soon.
